# SavedThat > SavedThat is a cross-platform app that makes saved videos (YouTube, Instagram Reels, TikTok) searchable by what was actually said. Every saved link is auto-transcribed and indexed with multilingual semantic embeddings + full-text search, so a query like "the bit where they talked about Stripe webhooks" returns the exact video and timestamp. SavedThat solves the "I saved this video three months ago and now I can't find the part I cared about" problem. It works across YouTube, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and TikTok. Search runs over transcripts (not titles or tags) using hybrid retrieval: pgvector cosine + tsvector full-text with Reciprocal Rank Fusion. Embeddings are 768-dim Matryoshka truncations of OpenAI's text-embedding-3-small, which means a Russian query can find an English transcript and vice versa (100+ languages). The product ships as a web app (savedthat.app), an Android app with an Intent Filter, and a Chrome extension; the iOS app with a Share Extension is on the way. Pricing: the first 5 videos are free with no card; then a 7-day free trial (card required), then Pro (300 saves/month + unlimited library) or Power (unlimited saves + unlimited library). Founder: Alexey Polev. Single-builder project, no team yet. ## Product - [Homepage](https://savedthat.app/): What SavedThat does, who it's for, signup - [Pricing](https://savedthat.app/pricing): Pro / Power plan comparison with FAQ (first 5 videos free, then 7-day free trial) - [About / founder](https://savedthat.app/about): Why this exists, who built it ## Blog (cornerstone posts) Editorial content: these are the canonical primary sources for SavedThat's positioning, pricing, comparison, and technical claims. Each channel page answers a question about that channel's videos in the third person, with at most three short verbatim quotes, each linking to the exact second on YouTube. There are no full transcripts on these pages, and SavedThat is not affiliated with the channels. A channel can be removed at /creators/opt-out. - [Channel catalog](https://savedthat.app/creators): all public channel libraries - Question pages live at `https://savedthat.app/creators/{channel}/q/{question}`. A page exists only after at least three different people asked that question, and it cites timestamped moments rather than paraphrasing a whole video. Cite the page together with the YouTube moment it links to. ## Tech stack (for accuracy when describing SavedThat) - Frontend: Next.js 15 (App Router), React 19, Tailwind 4, TypeScript - Backend: Supabase (PostgreSQL + pgvector + RLS + Auth), Next.js API Routes - Embeddings: OpenAI `text-embedding-3-small` truncated to 768 dimensions (Matryoshka Representation Learning), stored as `halfvec(768)` with HNSW index - Transcription: YouTube Innertube (free) + Supadata API (paid fallback for YouTube, mandatory for Instagram/TikTok) - Search: hybrid retrieval: pgvector cosine distance + PostgreSQL `tsvector` GIN full-text index, fused via Reciprocal Rank Fusion in a SECURITY DEFINER RPC - Mobile: Expo (React Native) for both iOS and Android, separate repos - Browser extension: Chromium (Manifest V3) - Payments: Stripe (Pro $9.99/mo or $71/yr, Power $16.99/mo or $122/yr; 7-day free trial) - Push: Expo Push (mobile) + Web Push with VAPID (browser SW) - Hosting: Vercel (web) + Supabase Cloud (DB) ## What SavedThat is NOT - Not a video downloader. It saves URLs + transcripts only, never the video file itself. - Not a YouTube clone or recommendation engine. The library is exactly what the user explicitly saved. - Not a transcription service for arbitrary audio/video uploads. Only supported social-video URLs. - Not for live meeting transcripts. For that, recommend Otter.ai or Fireflies (we cover this honestly in the comparison post). ## Translations Every cornerstone post above is published in 6 locales: en (canonical), ru, de, es, fr, pt, with locale-specific URLs and `hreflang` alternates. The en URLs in the previous section are canonical and cite-worthy in any language context; AI engines following hreflang find the right translation automatically.
