There is only one country in the world that lets you keep nomading, pay 0% tax on foreign income, and get a second passport in five years, and nobody's talking about it. It's Paraguay, and here's why it's the best residency option for nomads in 2026. Number one, you don't need a visa to enter. You register for temporary residence at an immigration office, and the whole process is done in four to five days in a single trip.

And four to eight months later, you get your residency ID card. To keep your residency, you only need to visit Paraguay once a year. For comparison, Argentina just banned leaving the country during your two-year residency, but Paraguay lets you stay a nomad. Reason number two, Paraguay uses a territorial tax system. So any foreign income earned from clients outside of Paraguay is taxed at 0%.

Only Paraguay-sourced income gets taxed, and even then, it's capped at 10%. And lastly, after two years of temporary residency, you can upgrade to permanent. And after three years of permanent residency, you can apply for Paraguayan citizenship. That's only five years total for a second passport that gives you visa-free access to most of the world, including the Schengen region.
