DMCA & Content Removal

1. What SavedThat stores

SavedThat saves links to publicly available videos and generates text transcripts so users can search their own saved libraries. We do not host, store, or redistribute video or audio files. All rights in the underlying videos remain with their creators and the platforms they were published on. SavedThat is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Google, Meta, or ByteDance.

2. Creator removal requests (no lawyer needed)

If you created a video (or own the rights to it) and do not want its transcript to appear on SavedThat, email us at hello@savedthat.app with the subject "Transcript removal request" and the link(s) to the video(s) or the SavedThat transcript page(s). Include something that reasonably shows the content is yours (for example, a message from the channel/account email, or a note posted from the account). We aim to remove the public transcript page within 7 days of a verified request — usually much faster. You do not need to file a formal DMCA notice for this.

3. Formal DMCA takedown notices

If you prefer the formal route under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. §512), send a written notice to our designated agent:

Your notice should include:

(a) identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed; (b) identification of the material to be removed (the SavedThat URL(s)); (c) your contact information (name, address, email); (d) a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; (e) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf; and (f) your physical or electronic signature.

4. Counter-notices

If material you saved was removed following a notice and you believe the removal was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address containing: identification of the removed material and its prior location, a statement under penalty of perjury of your good-faith belief that removal was mistaken, your name, address, and consent to the jurisdiction of your local courts (or, if outside the United States, of any judicial district in which SavedThat may be found), and your signature. We may restore the material no sooner than 10 and no later than 14 business days after receiving a valid counter-notice, unless the original claimant informs us they have filed a court action.

5. Repeat infringers

We terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are repeat infringers of third-party intellectual property rights.

6. What happens on removal

When a removal request is honored, the public transcript page for that video is taken down and the video is excluded from re-processing. Removal of public pages does not affect the original video on its source platform.
