If I wanted to go somewhere like Japan, I would have my hotel pay for my flights. If you're confused, don't worry, I was too, but let me explain. Let's say I live in Los Angeles, California. I know I want to visit Tokyo for at least a week. Maybe I just want to fly economy, and I see my flight is still $1,300 round trip. Way too much, and I know a way to get this paid for just by booking my hotel.

Now when I book my hotel, I can go to rovemiles.com, which will earn me an insane amount of miles just for one hotel stay. Maybe I find this one, Hotel Celestine Tokyo Shiba, $314 a night, but when I book this, I'm getting a 21X multiplier, earning me 46,000 miles.

It works is these are non-refundable stays, so this will post immediately to my Rove account. The best part is I can use those miles to transfer out to partner hotels and airlines like Finnair that has a 20% bonus. Good thing to note, Finnair uses the Avios currency, but so does all these other airlines.

So if I have Finnair Avios, I can convert those to either Qatar, British Airways, Iberia, or Aer Lingus. I know that Qatar offers seats on American Airlines flights from LAX to Haneda for only 25,000 Avios, which means if I were to book this hotel in Tokyo, I would earn 46,000 miles. I convert those miles to Finnair, that would give me 55,000 Avios, which I can then transfer

from Finnair to Qatar. I can book this flight going there for free, and this flight coming home for free. That's how I book a trip to Japan and have my hotel pay for my flights.
