Argument🖤 #poetry

We got into an argument last night, and to be honest I think I was right, but I decided to shut up and stay quiet. She wouldn't understand anyways., look at her. She has no clue what I go through to keep us under this roof. Fridge full of food, kids got shoes. Yeah, we're not rich, but I always get us through. What else does she want?

Look at him. He has no clue what I go through. He thinks staying at home with these kids is easy, yet it's something he'd never do. He tells me to not complain when I'm telling him the truth, and yet he wonders why I say I'm fine when he asks me how I'm doing. He wants respect. I do my best. I cook. I clean. Put kids to bed. I make this house a home where he can rest.

If that's not respect, then what is? God forgive us. We seem to have lost our sight. So focused on the fight, we've lost track of who's even right. We used to be head over heels for each other. Now we're trying to heal from each other. Our pride has stopped us from trying to hear one another. And then the devil whispers in the ear of the other, convincing us that maybe we should leave one another.

As if we're not compatible because we don't agree with each other. But those are lies. We're learning how to fight for truth, how to put ourselves in each other's shoes, how to fight for peace, not point of views. And even if we're not always on the same page, I pray to God every day that we'll continue to write this story for the rest of our days. No, I'm not.
